The Disney Wardrobe: Running in Style

With the Disneyland Half Marathon under way, we decided to take a look in our closets (and our wallets) to find what many call "runDisney fashion".

Leslie Kay, creator of the Disney-inspired DisneyBound outfits, recently joined with runDisney to bring us official Disney togs to get us pumped for running the Disney way.

Aside from official outfits, many fans and runners have jumped on Etsy to create costumes ideal for running a marathon - princesses, villains, and other classic characters abound!

Exercise with Disney: Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend Begins!

Runners abound! Those attending the Marathon Weekend went to the Welcome Event this morning in Paradise Pier, with a special appearance from Runner's World.

The event included a Q & A session, a Dynamic Warm-Up session, early access to the runDisney Merchandise Area, and even a ride on Soarin' to welcome runners to sunny California.

Later today, the Health & Fitness expo will open at noon and run for most of the weekend.

Be sure to visit even if you aren't registered for the runs - the Expo is open to all!

While runners can pick up their numbers, shirts, and gEAR bags, the everyday Disney-goer can enjoy runDisney apparel, merch, equipment and gadgets, and a fabulous speaker series for training tips and nutrition.

Check out the Expo noon through 5:30pm at the Grand Californian! The first race, the Family Fun Run 5k, starts at 5:30am tomorrow, in Downtown Disney.

If you don't make it to the race tips seminar at the Expo, be sure to check out the runDisney website to enjoy your race safely and efficiently.

Good luck and have a fantastic weekend!

Waking up with Disney: Back to School Edition

For a lot of people, school started today. For some other people, school starts tomorrow, or next week, or even next month!

Does anybody have their sleep schedule under control? Doubtful.

For those first days back, waking up is not the best part of the day. Sure, you get to see friends again and finally have day-long activities to zap away that summer boredom that's been creeping up.

But do you really want to get out of bed by seven - or even, six?

To kickstart your day, try a little Disney in the morning! Here's my morning booster playlist à la Disney!

Perfect Isn't Easy - Bette Midler, Oliver & Company
An ideal start to the morning is reminding yourself just how perfect you are. Wake up and smell the perfection. After all, "your public awaits".

Hakuna Matata - Nathan Lane, The Lion King
The first few days of school can be stressful. What if you hate everyone in your classes? What if you never see your friends? What if your teachers aren't fabulous? Get yourself a new motto - Hakuna Matata - and feel worry-free.

Trashin the Camp - Tarzan
Tell me you wouldn't be dancing around your room or dorm to this fabulous, and underrated, song from Tarzan. It's just what you need to get your blood pumping and your body ready for a brand new year, brand new you.

Zero to Hero - The Muses, Hercules
Akin to Perfect Isn't Easy, Zero to Hero is a Disney power jam. Feel the rockin' beat & feel ready to kick some academic booty!

I-2-I (Eye to Eye) - Powerline, A Goofy Movie
A Goofy Movie is one of the most underrated Disney movies, despite its cult following. The soundtrack itself is phenomenal, and gets you ready to Stand Out!

For an even greater incentive to wake up, check out Disney's new app - Wake Up with Disney - featuring Donald, the weather, and plenty of interactive fun!
